Executive Functioning Strategies for Twice-Exceptional (2e) Learners
Does your child struggle with organization, time management, or task initiation despite their high abilities? Executive functioning challenges can impact learning, social interactions, and daily routines, making school and home life more difficult for twice-exceptional (2e) learners. In this session, we’ll explore the unique executive functioning profiles of 2e students and discuss practical strategies to support their growth. Topics will include building routines, managing distractions, fostering independence, and leveraging strengths to overcome challenges. Join other parents in a supportive environment to share experiences, ask questions, and gain tools to help your child thrive.
What You’ll Gain:
Expert Guidance: Our leader’s extensive background and innovative work reflect her deep commitment to creating inclusive and neurodivergent positive environments.
Insightful Discussions: Understand twice-exceptionality (2e) and how it shapes learning, social, and emotional development. Explore why 2e children’s needs often go unnoticed or misunderstood and how to change this.
Personalized Practical Tools: Learn strategies to address educational and parenting challenges, foster curiosity, and build supportive communities. Gain advocacy tools and strength-based approaches to leverage your child’s abilities and interests.
Intimate Community: Connect with other parents facing similar challenges. Build lasting connections and share resources with parents who "get it."
Program At-a-Glance
Group Size: Limited to 8 participants for a close-knit, supportive environment.
Duration: Meets once a week for 1 hour over 4 weeks.
Location: Sessions will take place on Zoom.
Privacy: Meetings will not be recorded to encourage open and personal discussions. Resources will be emailed after each session.
Facilitator: Led by Teresa Nair, M.Ed., REEL’s Parent Community and Services Program Manager.
Cost: $280 for the full series (four one-hour sessions over four weeks).
What To Expect:
In these discussions, we will delve into the unique experiences of twice-exceptional (2e) kids children with remarkable strengths alongside diagnoses like dyslexia, ADHD, autism, anxiety, slow processing speed, etc. These differences often present as challenges in traditional education and parenting systems and approaches. Together, we’ll explore how to better support our 2e kids by understanding and embracing their exceptional abilities while addressing possible barriers.
Why Join Us?
This program offers more than just resources; it creates a welcoming space for meaningful discussions with a small group of supportive parents and a skilled facilitator who understands the unique challenges and joys of raising a 2e child. In this focused, inclusive environment, you’ll gain practical strategies and connect with a community that truly understands your journey, helping you navigate the complexities of raising a 2e child in today’s world.
