EVENT DESCRIPTION
How can parents and educators help children with learning differences feel seen, supported, and connected at school?
A sense of belonging is essential to student well-being, confidence, and academic success. Social-emotional learning (SEL) offers powerful tools for building inclusive school communities where every student feels valued.
Christina Cipriano, PhD, Professor of Education at UMass Amherst, longtime researcher at the Yale Child Study Center, and member of the National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLD) Professional Advisory Board, explores the connection between SEL, learning differences, and belonging.
Drawing on her extensive research in social-emotional development and inclusive education, Dr. Cipriano shares practical strategies for parents, caregivers, and educators to strengthen relationships and create learning environments where all students can thrive.
This event is presented in partnership with the National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLD), bringing together clinical expertise, advocacy, and a shared commitment to helping students feel understood, supported, and able to thrive.
Parents/caregivers, educators, and community members welcome! Simultaneous Spanish interpretation will be available. Free admission.
