Twice exceptional learners often face unique challenges when it comes to writing. Despite their vast knowledge, they may struggle with aspects of the writing process, which can lead to frustration, underachievement, and diminished self-confidence. But why are writing difficulties so common in 2e learners, and what makes writing such a complex task?

This panel will delve into the intricacies of writing challenges faced by 2e learners, exploring how writing draws on multiple cognitive, linguistic, and motor skills that can be impacted by a variety of exceptionalities such as ADHD, dysgraphia, or executive functioning difficulties. We’ll explore the mismatch between their creative or analytical thinking and their ability to express those ideas in written form. Our panel of writing experts - Dr. Austina De Bonte from Smart is not Easy, Shu-Hsien Ho and Royd Hatta from Beyond the Box Learning, and Jay Dunlap from Learning Farm Educational Resources - will provide practical strategies to support your learner at home and in the classroom.

This event will be recorded and emailed to all RSVPs.

NEW This event will have live Spanish translation.
