Abstract
Educators face complex classrooms with diverse neurodivergent and 2e learner needs—but evidence-based strategies rarely translate into real-time practice. This session explores how AI can close that gap by turning research into actionable, in-the-moment guidance.
Drawing on a collaboration between CHC, REEL, and an experienced educator/administrator, we'll apply strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming frameworks. Using Ellis—a research-informed, chat-based AI thought partner—as a case example, we'll highlight four design principles:
- Translating evidence into contextual, decision-ready guidance
- Embedding strengths-based and neurodiversity-affirming approaches
- Supporting educator cognition and decision-making under time constraints
- Preserving human judgment and professional autonomy in AI-supported environments.
