Hi! I’m Marni Kammersell, a neurodivergent parent to three neurodivergent children who are also twice-exceptional.

I’m passionate about a lot of things, including the neurodiversity paradigm, self-directed education, non-coercive relationships, and understanding experience through the lens of the nervous system.

Currently, I am doctoral student at Bridges Graduate School of Cognitive Diversity in Education. I’m also a neurodiversity educator, specializing in supporting parents and families. I offer individual consultations, facilitate parent support groups, and teach classes.

My goal is to help people create liberatory, neuro-affirming family and educational cultures. I have over 15 years experience working in alternative education in a variety of settings, including homeschooling, unschooling, community education, democratic schools, and forest schools.

My academic background includes a Master’s degree in public policy, with a focus on alternative education and health policy. In the past, I’ve worked as a science policy analyst for the National Institutes of Health and a research associate at the National Academy of Medicine.

I base my approach to working with individuals and families on both my lived experience and extensive research. I’m fortunate to have an incredible network of neurodivergent friends and colleagues, and I am honored to serve as a resource for my broader community.
